Very Large Shattuckite Nuggets 4" and Larger One Pound Lot
A rare opportunity and unique addition! These very large Shattuckite Nuggets are a real Turquoise-colored mineral, mined from the Earth in Bisbee, Arizona. However, they are not Turquoise. They are another copper based mineral named after the copper mine in which they were originally discovered back in 1912. With a color like Bisbee Turquoise with the addition of Lapis Royal Blues and shiny metallic dark gray, these nuggets create exceptional cabochons reminiscent of Bisbee Turquoise but also completely amazing in their own way. Unlike Turquoise, Shattuckite can form crystals and there are many cool Shattuckite crystal specimens and geodes discovered. We sliced and windowed a stone chosen at random which you can see in the last picture as an example of what to expect when you cut and polish these amazing nuggets. These rough nuggets are very large, over 4" inches and larger. To receive the largest nuggets order 2 lbs or more. Check the photos closely to get a good idea of the variation and what to expect. These are stabilized to protect the color over time. You will receive 1 pound of nuggets from the lot pictured. Each 1 pound lot is different and the number and size of stones will vary. It's easy to see this mineral comes from Bisbee and is a cousin of Bisbee Turquoise. Note: Many of these large nuggets are over 1 pound. To receive the largest nuggets whole, not sliced or spli into smaller pieces, you will need to order more than 1 pound. Some of these are close to 4 pounds.
