Large Turquoise Nugget 16.7 Pound Specimen
Loads of color and personality are packed into this large 16.7 pound stone. As you can see from the large flat side, this Large Turquoise Nugget has a beautiful mix of greens and aqua blue with a golden matrix. It's very similar to the Royston Turquoise type color scheme and there's almost 7,575 grams of it in this single rock! The size and shape of this nugget would make for a high yield during cutting, cabbing, or carving. It is also very impressive in this natural state and would make an eye widening addition to a mineral collection. This giant Turquoise nugget comes from the Alacran Mine in Mexico and has been stabilized to protect the color over time. The large flat bottom side could be windowed and polished to showcase the color and character or used as the base for displaying. Overall dimensions are 12.5" long x 10" wide x 4" to 4.5" deep. One edge has a few shallow cracks and fissures along the surface, they are not loose and could not be broken away by hand. A detail photo of this feature is included in the pictures. The rest of of the nugget is solid. Photographed dry just as it came from the mine. The second to last photo is an example of this same Turquoise tumble polished to show the bright color and quality contained within this huge nugget.
