Each 100 carat bag of stones contains a sampling of all the wonder and variety that Turquoise has to offer. Blues, greens, bright or pastel, black and honey brown spiderwebbing in endless shades and variations. They come from a variety of mines in the southwest and have been collected over the years from buyouts of other stores or silversmiths working in the area. The majority of these cabochons are likely stabilized, but there are also many natural stones in the mix. It's too difficult to sort them out now and that's part of why they are such a great value. There are a range of sizes, from 6mm up to 15mm measuring the longest edge and most are backed. Study the photos closely to get a good idea of the variety of colors and shapes. In the 100 carat sample displayed in the first photo, there are a total of 98 stones, meaning each gemstone is just $.51!
